This is the newest incarnation of the long-running list of projects of Jeff Albert combining the threads and tangles of New Orleans and Chicago modern music-making. Featuring “Diesel” Dan Oestreicher (from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue) on baritone and other saxes, Mikel-Patrick Avery from Chicago on drums and percussion, Jeff Albert on trombone and one of New Orleans busiest and deepest bass-players, Jesse Morrow. They will be playing a mix of new compositions and instant instigations. This is the first public performance by this 4-tet, and they will have been in the studio for the weekend prior constructing a record.
